I have three questions about slingshots?
I have a slingshot that I made from a decent Y-shaped piece of wood, with bungee cord as the firing mechanism. I have 30cm of the bungee cord for each side of the leather pocket/holder. And it stretches a good length.
1) When I pull back on my slingshot over 40 cm, the Y-shaped piece of wood angles diagonally back, so its not vertical anymore. Would this be because the wood is not strong enough? If that is the reason, what adjustments can I make to make it stronger and stop this from happening.
2) How can I get better accuracy? If there are any adjustments I can make, please tell me, otherwise I probably just have to practice.
3) What other adjustments can I make to make it shoot further? I want it to shoot between 50-100 metres. If it could shoot more, than that would be excellent, because I know some of the slingshots that you can buy can shoot upto 150m or something.

1&2. Is the wood bending or is it shifting in your hand? If it is bending I'd look for a stronger piece of wood. If it is shifting you will have to figure out how to hold it so that it does not move like that. That movement can greatly effect accuracy because you are adding a wrist flick motion to the shot.
I would change out the bungee for surgical tubing as I feel it has a snappier response and more energy when released.
