cant get game to run even tho pc says it can handel it?

i have a aspire m1100 rating 3.o windows exp index amd athlon [tm] 64 times 2 dual core processor 4000+ 2.10ghz ram 767mb 32bit operating system i can install clive bar kers jerico has amazing intro but at end of intro game goes black with sound. system says it can cope with game why wont it work can anyone help

try downloading the latest drivers for your, graphics card ,and motherboard........
