ISO Free Pattern of Fleece Blanket that Folds itself into a carrying bag?
I'm looking for the free pattern that Wal-Mart used to have for free in their sewing department. It was a fleece blanket that folded into itself, making a carrying bag. Does anyone know where I might find it online?
You will need a piece of fleece that folds neatly into 1/3's both ways. Fold it, then get another piece of fleece that that is 1/2" larger that that folded form on all sides.
On the smaller square, turn under 1/2" and sew on all four sides. Make two handles the length you want, but just big enough to put your hand through is usual. Put one of these handles on one edge of the small square.
With large piece of fleece. mark the bottom center of the square, place the small square on the right side in the middle 1/3 of the blanket, mark the center bottom of that square and pin the other handle in place sandwiched between the blanket and the pocket. Sew the square on the right side along the sides and bottom of the small square. Top stitch it in place.
Turn the blanket over wrong side facing up, fold both sides into middle section, 1/3s, then fold down into 1/3s, the folded form laying on top of the pocket on the other side. Put your hand inside the pocket and holding the blanket folds in place, flip the pocket up and over the folded blanket. Voila, one blanket in a bag.
