I create the ice cream ball great - but the chocolate shell is the problem.

It's hard to melt chocolate - it doesnt turn to liquid easily and when i pour it over the ice cream ball the icecream that it lands on is melted on contact, so the chocolate doesnt stay on it just flies down to the sides. If i cool it some more so it doesnt melt the chocolate, it gets hard all again!

How could I do this chocolate shell?

I recently rolled it in chocolate syrup - i stuck it in the freezer but im not confident that the syrup has the ability to freeze and if it does it might turn out crappy - or is this what i should use??

I've also used cinnomin or cocoa powder as a shell alternative and it works well, but i still want chocolate!!
