- Every Mercedes-Benz is drowned in a 52-ton primer bath before any painting takes place. This is a rich coating acts as an anti-corrosion agent.
- As another way to combat future rust, 25 pounds of permanent plasticized undercoating is sprayed on the wheel wells and the car’s underside after the primer layer has been baked.
- The body and all Mercedes Parts are painted with four coats, with a polishing between every coat. The final coat is hand painted to give a more smooth, lustrous finish to the car which is salt-resistant.
- Mercedes Benz Wheels are premium tires that exceed the U.S. safety requirements by a long shot. They are known for providing full passenger or luggage loads with a normal air pressure, at continuous high speeds. All Mercedes Wheels are dynamically and statically balanced at the factories, even the spare tire!
- All standard Benz models come with a four speed, fully synchronized manual or automatic transmission. This does not include the 300 or 600 series, these are equipped with automatic transmissions only.
- Before plating takes place, all chromium trim on Mercedes is given two coats of copper and one coat of nickel for consistency.
- There is more passenger space in even the smallest Mercedes-Benz than any typical large sedan.
- Fresh air is constantly flowing through a Benz with their unique ventilation systems that draw in clean air with a scoop on the hood. Stale air is exhausted through the ducts which is near the rear of the cabin.
- Leading orthopedic physicians took part in the initial designed of Mercedes-Benz seating. The contoured seats provide support for your kidney, back, and knee-joint areas.
- Seat springs decrease any type of muscle fatigue because they are conveniently tuned with the car’s suspension motion. This rids your car of tiny jiggling movements that can cause lasting discomfort.
- The transmission will never slip in a Mercedes-Benz if you upgrade to the optional Daimler-Benz automatic transmission that has four forward speeds. You can operate this transmission as a manual or automatically. Instead of using torque converters this transmission use a hydraulic coupling principle. With this addition, fuel economy is still equal to manual Benz gearboxes.
- You will never lose touch of your front wheels in a Benz. The power steering in this vehicle uses a servo-booster that adds steering assistance as needed, it conveniently spots you as more effort is needed.
- The body of a Mercedes-Benz requires no yearly changes. This means when it comes time for “a new car” there will be no surprises for those long time owners.
