urgent, need to find the key code for my car, lost keys !!?
I have a 1986 Dodge Aries ( very old I know )
But I'm wondering where I can find the 5 digit key code ?
My car is old so there is no way to open the trunk from the inside
There are 2 seperate keys, 1 for the trunk and 1 for the door / ignition.
I lost both cause I lost my whole key chain ring.
There is a metal frame on the door ( on the drivers side ) where I close the door, is that it ?
or is there even a key code for a car that old

Ign/door keyed alike. Blank: P1770U
Trunk Blank S1770U
The book shows: NO CODES, However I have found that there is usually one on the Ignition Cylinder itself. This requires pulling the steering wheel.
If you can get a door cyl. out, (R/H door is usually easiest) you might take it to a locksmith shop. I would have charged $35.00. That is, "IF" It is really keyed alike with the Ign. On the trunk . . . Sorry, but you're SCREWED. You will HAVE to get the trunk open to remove that Cyl. Does it have a glove box lock? Is it KA to the trunk? If so, That's your ticket home.
FYI: It is a 5 "pin" tumbler lock. It can be "Picked" and possibly "impressioned". Find an OLDER locksmith that was around doing cars back then. These new guys and new Cars are certainly different now.
