Seeing Italy and Greece?
My school is offering a trip to Italy and Greece. I was just wondering if it sounds like a good one and if I'll be seeing the good parts of Italy. I've always wanted to go, but I hope I am seeing things I'll remember and not the random parts of Italy no one has heard of, you know? Oh, and where is the city above water?
The tour brochure says: Florence, Palazzo Vecchio, Piazza della Signoria, Chiesa di Santa Croce, Ponte Vecchio, Duomo visit, Leather workshop, Gates of Paradise, Giotto’s Bell Tower, Dante's house, Rome, Vatican Museums & Sistine Chapel visit, St. Peter’s Basilica visit, Colosseum visit, Piazza Venezia, Forum Romanum visit, Rome City Walk, Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain, Pantheon, Piazza Navona, Sorrento, Patras, Brindisi, Pompeii, Delphi, Athens, Temple of Apollo, Parthenon, Acropolis visit, Temple of Athena Nike, Omonia Square, Syntagma Square, Olympic site, Plaka district, Temple of Olympian Zeus, and Hadrian’s Arch.
It looks like an average run of the mill tour. Venice is curiously lacking in the Italian part but that's probably because of the need to pack so many places in so little time.
I expect you would come back having seen plenty of famous monuments and places, certainly not "random parts of Italy no one has heard of". I expect you should enjoy it.
Also, since when is sightseeing an actual relevant part of school trips? When I was in school that was just an excuse to have fun all together and try to get laid. Preferably with some exotic foreign girl ( usually tourists from somewhere else, locals were harder to approach ) but classmates were fine.
