Coin Storage Options -Which of these two are better?
I have a few hundred or so coins I'd like to properly wrap up for easy storage and view. I'm not a real collector per se I just enjoy having them and would like to pass them on one day.
Option 1>
Folded cardboard holder in a pocket binder album or box?
Option 2>
Vinyl Flips (safeflip?)
Got one better?
Safe flips are the best for they do not have paper dust like staple type cardboard mounts. They have a place to write what they are but the one draw back is they are very stiff and if one keeps bending the flap back and forth it breaks. If you buy high quality cardboard mounts and use a can of air to get rid of the dust you should have no long term storage problems. there are now some safety air tight cardboard mounts but they are some what expensive. Do not use the cheap vinyl flips use safety only. I use both systems, I use flips for ancient coins for there is more room on the insert to write info. Expensive coins I have in hard cases.
