Would i be able to hang a punching bag in my spare room? what filler should i use , will the roof be....?

more information:
it is the smallest room and we are going to convert it into a home gym , there will only be the punching bag , an exercise bike and a cross trainer but i need help on choosing a punch bag !

If one of the walls is an outside wall, then it will probably be strong enough to take the bracket for hanging a bag.
The 'beams' holding the ceiling up will probably be strong enough, IF you have a 'loft space' upstairs. If your roof space is criss-crossed with timbers, then the wood that your ceiling is fixed to will be the underside of a 'lightweight truss'. This is unlikely to withstand the repeated vibration when you keep punching the bag.
If your walls and ceiling aren't strong enough, you can still hang the bag if you screw a thick plywood board onto the timbers first. The board 'spreads the load', by transferring some of the weight and vibration to each separate timber that it's attached to.
A heavy bag is better, but the ones you buy in shops mainly come with the kind of stuffing that you get in a duvet. This can be very suitable for hitting, when it's compressed, but some people like to add sand, cat litter (dried clay), straw or wood shavings (pet bedding).
A layer or roll of carpet around the stuffing, so that it presses against the inside of the bag, can help too.
