Von Willebrand disease?
I think I may have this but don't know if I should go to the GP and ask for testing or just leave it be as it's not doing me any harm. I'm 25 and have suffered from frequent, heavy, long nose bleeds my whole life, some last up to 45mins and in a bad month I could have 3+ bleeds a week, although other times I can go months without any bleeds.
The reason I ask now is because my boyfriend has pointed out that the massive bruises I get from dancing are weird as the pressure causing them is so mild and none of the other dancers seem to get them as frequently or as large as me. I also had to go on the pill due to very painful, heavy and long periods.
My brother was also worried about a clotting disorder a few years back after he had uncontrolled bleeding after dental surgery, he was tested for haemophilia but no one ever tested for/mentioned Von Willebrand disease.
My question is do I go to the GP just to get the paper saying, yes you have it, or is it a waste of time?

It's possibly nothing.........then again it would be good to know if you have got it
